Rio Pico, Argentina - Patagonia
Patagonia Unlimited
Fly Fishing Trip or Lodge Details:
Patagonia Unlimited, is a full service outfitter in southern Argentina
and Chile, and provide a wide selection of trips and services for fly fishing,
adventure, and eco-tourism, all organized from a home base in Rio Pico, Chubut.
Guided fishing trips are all inclusive affairs that begin the moment your plane
lands in Patagonia. You will be picked up at the airport in Esquel or Bariloche by
your guide, who will remain at your service for the duration of the trip. All trips
are run by one guide and one assistant guide, and include lodging, meals, beer
and wine, any necessary loaner gear, and on-stream terminal tackle including flies.
Ground transportation during your stay will be by way of immaculately maintained
four-wheel drive vehicles, capable of accessing even the most remote waters in the region.
The goal is to custom-tailor each and every angler’s trip to best fulfill the angler’s dreams.
Generally in a given week anglers will have the opportunity to fish everything from large
open lakes and rivers using three-inch streamers, to tiny spring creeks floating #12 dries,
and everything in between.
FISHING: Rainbows, browns and brook trout. Just a few of the rivers commonly
fished include the Corcovado, the Rio Pico, the Rio Las Pampas, the Rio Nilson,
and the Rio Tecka.
The small town of Rio Pico is the home base, and is situated right in
the middle of the most productive trout fishing lakes in all of Patagonia.
The famous Lagos 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5, as well as many smaller and less well
known but no less productive lakes, are all within twenty minutes drive,
while the enormous and spectacular Lago Vintter sits just thirty minutes to
the North. Although many of these lakes are quite fishable from shore, many
others are not, as they are surrounded by steep rocky grades or dense foliage.
Patagonia Unlimited maintains a selection of appropriate watercraft in order
to access them all.
